Gold and Gold in 2020 New York International Olive Oil Competition

Taralinga Estate extra virgin olive oil wins Gold in New York for the second year running

We have superseded last year’s performance at the 2020 New York International Olive Oil Competition by taking home two Gold awards.

"For both our products to win Gold awards is a momentous occasion for us,” said Sam Tarascio Snr, owner of Taralinga Estate, “This result is testament to our mission of producing quality extra virgin olive oil to the highest possible standard – not just here on the Mornington Peninsula or in Australia, but in the world."

This year’s double Gold has again placed Taralinga Estate on the Official Index of the World’s Best Olive Oils.

The prestigious New York International Olive Oil Competition is an awards program staged every year with a panel of world-leading expert judges and more than 1,000 extra virgin olive oil entries from 27 countries. This year only three Australian groves were awarded Gold and two of those entries were ours!

We attribute our success to a number of things, including the precise nature of our process. From picking at just the right time, to making sure the olives are pressed within hours of being picked. We also have the unique ability to process our olives right here on the estate which ensures the freshest possible EVOO. Our sophisticated Pieralisi two-phased oil processing plant is the best of its kind. And, of utmost importance, Taralinga Estate is based on the Mornington Peninsula which is an ideal micro-climate for olive groves.
